Dr. Suess Day

     Did you know.....

  • In 1960, Bennett Cerf, Seuss’ editor, bet Seuss he couldn’t write a book using only 50 words. The resulting story was ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ which uses exactly 50 words. Appearing in this order, they are: I am Sam; that; do not like; you green eggs and ham; them; would here or there; anywhere; in a house with mouse; eat box fox; car they; could; may will see tree; let me be; train on; say the dark; rain; goat; boat; so try may; if; good; thank. We could not say that five times fast. Would not, could not.   Huffington Post

In honor of Dr. Suess' birthday I decided to throw a little get together where we could enjoy some fun Dr. Suess inspired edibles and some crafts for the kiddos. After our little party we headed over to the base community center where they were hosting a Who-Ville Picnic and showing "Horton Hears a Who."  We had so much fun celebrating such a great children's author...here's some of the pictures!

  1. SO cute! Such a great idea for green eggs, I just chopped up eggs I dyed green for my son's Dr. Suess Themed lunch but doing them in the deviled egg style is slightly more appealing LOL I love all of your party ideas! You are so creative!

  2. It was really easy to dye the deviled egg part...I used Duff Goldman's dye (usually for frosting, found at Michael's). They turned out the PERFECT shade of green, and you couldn't taste the dye. We all had a lot of fun!
