Taking a break

Hello all....well, these next two weeks are going to be pretty hectic for me and my family for it is time to pack up the house and move!  We have spent four years here in California, so now the time has come for us to say goodbye to all our friends and start a new adventure in New Mexico.  So, with that, I've decided to take a little break from the blogging world to focus on this move.  We've got the packers coming after the holiday through the weekend, then the movers come on Monday to pick up all our stuff, then we got to clean the house and plan on staying in a hotel for two days before we load up the car and start making our way down south.

It's going to be a long drive, especially since I'm 7 months preggers now.  Believe me, between me and my 4 year old, there will be lots of potty breaks.  One the hubby's and I's favorite things to do is try new restaurants along the way when we do trips.  So that definitely gives us something to look forward to.  Also, we plan on stopping in Arizona to stay with my aunt and uncle for a little two day visit before we continue our journey.  However, our new house won't be ready for us to move in to till after the 17th...so back in a hotel we will go until then.  I am soooo looking forward to being in our very own home! Can't believe we are almost home owners...a whole new adventure on it's self.  I just hope the movers will be delivering all our stuff around that time so we don't have to wait for it.  Plus, my mom and dad plan on driving out and helping us move everything in that weekend.  We've got a lot of big things happening this year....The move, owning a new home, the hubby starting a new job, Liam starts preschool in August, and Kinley is due in September!

Here's a picture of our new humble abode...

Well, until next post, hope everyone has a wonderful couple of weeks.  I will definitely have lots to post soon about our move...

4th of July Hamburger Cookies

Today, we are heading over to Tori's house to celebrate the 4th of July, and of course I couldn't go over there empty handed.  I found the cutest idea for these Hamburger Cookies from this awesome blog, The Girl Who Ate Everything.  They were so simple and easy to make, with only six ingredients, anyone can make these!

Ingredients

Vanilla Wafer Cookies
Grasshopper Fudge Cookies
1 cup shredded Coconut
Green Food Coloring
1 Betty Crocker Red decorator frosting
1 Betty Crocker Yellow decorator frosting

Directions

Place the coconut in a Ziploc bag and add some green food coloring.
Shake around until food coloring has absorbed and turned the coconut green.

For each burger you will need two vanilla wafers as the buns.
Place a small dot of frosting on the bottom bun.

Then place a grasshopper cookie on top to look like a hamburger patty.

Make a circle of red frosting on top of the grasshopper cookie to look like ketchup,
then drizzle some yellow frosting to look like mustard.

Top generously with the green coconut to look like lettuce.

Finish by placing the second vanilla wafer on top of the coconut as the top burger bun.

Now time to enjoy your Mini Hamburger Cookies!!

Happy 4th of July!!

My New Obsession...

If you haven't heard of Revlon's new Scented Nail Polish, I suggest you check it out!  There are so many beautiful colors to choose from, however it has been challenge finding them all.  The ones I have collected I found at Walmart and Kmart.

Here's some of the colors:

Cotton Candy

Orange Pop

Not So Blueberry

Beach

Raspberry Rapture

Grape Icy

Mon Cherry

Ocean Breeze

Sublime Strawberry

Coconut Crush

I really liked these nail polishes, they went on very smooth and you only need two coats.  There is a slight sparkle to the polish making your nails shimmer in the sunlight.  I even put on a top coat and you can still smell the scent, however it does fade within a few days.  Hope you like them as much as I do...and I'm still on the search for the remaining colors:

Passion Fruit
Pretty in Papaya
Gum Drop
Peach Smoothie
Mad About Mango
Bubble Gum

Saw this on Pinterest....made me laugh :o)

Our Summer Bucket List

Today, was another windy day out here in Vandenberg, perfect for flying kites from Our Summer Bucket List.

"Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height."

"Let's go fly a kite, and send it soaring..."

"Up to the atmosphere, up where the air is clear."

"Ohhhhhhhh, let's gooooo...."

"Fly a kite!"

Our Summer Bucket List

Yesterday, we headed outside to enjoy the sunny weather and throw around the Frisbee.  Liam was excited about this activity from Our Summer Bucket List.

Daddy teaching Liam how to throw the frisbee.

Nice form Liam!

I think he got it! Nice throw!

A little windy, but definitely a fun day!

Our Summer Bucket List

Another one of our full day activities from Our Summer Bucket List is visiting San Luis Obispo.

We went to the Creekside Brewery for lunch.  My Metropolitan Salad was simply amazing,
Liam loved his chicken tenders & fries, and the hubby enjoyed his tacos.

Liam was being a silly head.  Love his goofy faces.

After lunch we walked down to the creek below the brewery.

Liam and daddy crossed some big rocks across the creek....

And back again.

The we walked down to this place called the Rocket Fizz a Soda Pop & Candy store.

There were so many sodas and all sorts of candy!!  The hubby picked out a
ginger soda and a Mr. Cola.  Liam picked out a blue raspberry & watermelon swirl ring pop
and I filled a bag up of salt water taffy.

Liam shared his ring pop with daddy.

And who couldn't resist taking a picture with Stay Puft the Marshmallow Man?

Lots and lots of fun in SLO today!  Another Summer Bucket List activity to mark off.

Our Summer Bucket List

Today, we marked off visiting the Madonna Inn from Our Summer Bucket List.  We headed out early this morning to San Luis Obispo for breakfast at the inn's famous Copper Cafe.

Liam tried out their pancakes, they were delicious.  I opted for the ham and cheese omelet
with bacon, hash browns, and toast. The hubby chose the traditional bacon, eggs, and toast.  Everything was amazing!

The Madonna Inn is known for their specialty cakes,
amazing pastries, and yummy chocolates.
After breakfast we all picked out a little sweet treat from
the chocolate display to enjoy.

And of course we just had to make a "squish penny" to add to Liam's collection.

After breakfast we walked around the hotel.
There was pink EVERYWHERE!!

Then we headed outside and enjoyed our sweet chocolate treats by some water fountains.

We walked around some of the grounds and came across these beautiful and friendly horses.

They even let us pet them and feed them some grass.

Today was a lot of fun! I'm so happy we finally got to visit the historic Madonna Inn.  Just wish we could've stayed in one of the hotel rooms, they are suppose to be amazing.
